High fashion isn’t just for adults anymore! Erin Graw has provided a source for children’s creativity and self-expression with her store Blue Velvet Kids Clothing in West Vancouver. As the store logo – Beautiful Clothes for Beautiful Children – suggests, the store specializes in high-end, designer clothing and accessories for children.  Featuring brands such as Ella Moss, Juicy Baby, Nolita Pocket, Ra-re the Kid and Hugo Boss, the store is a fashion playground for both parents and children. We asked Erin questions about Blue Velvet Kids Clothing and what Spring trends she is most looking forward to for kids, including her own. Here’s what she told us:

What trends can we look forward to in the Spring?

More skinny jeans and a light scarf  I have cute ones from Diesel coming in.

What are some of your favourite pieces that the store is currently featuring?

A knit vest for toddler girls from Nolita Pocket. They look vintage and they are so cute.

What’s the last clothing purchase you made for your kids?

Rain boots and soccer socks, haha. [The last purchase] from my store was sweatpants.  My boys always want to be in sweatpants, so I try to buy nice ones for the store. Well as nice as sweat pants can be…

What inspired you to begin Blue Velvet Kids Clothing?

I love clothes and having boys and finding really cool clothes that not every other kid was wearing was hard to find, so I thought I would try to bring some flavor to kids clothes in Vancouver.

Be genuine.

What does a day in your life look like?

Running around all day, then coming home and making dinner, and maybe running around some more.

What would you like your customers to walk away with after a visit to your store?

Eye-catching clothes and the feeling that they had fun in the store because it should be a place you visit as well. You want to go where everybody knows your name.

How would you describe a Blue Velvet child?

Hip.

Is there anything upcoming you can let us know about the store?

I have two new brands coming for Spring, which is Hugo Boss and ilovegorgeous. Both are high-end and more fancy, unlike the other clothes that I’m selling that have been more everyday pieces.
